10 fixes for a clean, punchy mix - in any genre, with start values you can use tonight.

Most mixes don't fail because of missing plugins. They fail because of the same handful of problems: no headroom, kick and bass fighting, mud, masking and flat drums. This free guide gives you one page per problem - what it sounds like, how to fix it, the start settings and a quick test you can do right away.

What's inside:

  • Leave headroom first
  • Know where every sound lives (frequency map)
  • Stop the kick-bass fight (sidechain settings)
  • Clean up the mud
  • Let the vocal breathe
  • Compress for punch, not loudness
  • Layered or multi-miked? Check the phase
  • Mono low end, wide top
  • Create depth
  • Tame harshness
  • Bonus: use a reference track
  • Your mix checklist - print it

Format: PDF, 16 pages
Works in every DAW and every genre - shown with Ableton Live stock devices and the free TDR Nova and TDR Kotelnikov plugins.
